Alabama State “Mighty Marching Hornets”

The Alabama State Mighty Marching Hornets are a nationally renowned band known for their high-quality, high-energy performances! They were the first HBCU marching band to lead the Rose Bowl Parade and have appeared in numerous national television shows and movies, including, the documentary Bama State Style, the 2016 film “Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk”, Beyonce’s 2019 special Homecoming, and at iconic national events. Recently, the Mighty Marching Hornets were selected to host the 2023 Honda Battle of the Bands as the event returns with a live showcase at the ASU Stadium.

Bethune-Cookman “Marching Wildcats”

The B-CU Marching Wildcats strive to bring the finest half-time performances to audiences around the nation! They have made appearances at the 2022 Pepsi National Battle of the Bands, halftime shows for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and other major sporting events as big as the Super Bowl.

The Alabama State Hornets finished the 2021 season with a 3-5 conference record and 5-6 overall, and were undefeated at their home stadium. Under the direction of head coach Eddie Robinson Jr, the ASU Hornets are looking to dominate the SWAC East and make it to the SWAC Championship Game, especially with new QB freshman, Dematrius Davis.

Bethune-Cookman Wildcats

The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats finished the 2021 season with a 2-6 conference record and 2-9 overall - marking their first season in the SWAC. Under the direction of veteran head coach, Terry Sims, and with the new addition of Junior QB transfer from Jackson State, Jalon Jones, the Wildcats are looking to rise the ranks in the SWAC East and come out on top against the Hornets, after losing 24-38 in their last gameday matchup.
